Heathrow Airport taxi | Fixed fares, all terminals
Heathrow is a 15 to 30 minute run from Burnham, Slough, Windsor and Maidenhead depending on traffic and which of the four terminals you're using, and it accounts for more of our bookings than any other airport.
The M4 is the direct route in from all four of our main towns, joining the airport either via the M4 spur into the central terminal area for Terminals 2 and 3, or via the M25's Junction 14 and the A3113 spur for Terminal 5. Terminal 4 sits on the south side, off the Southern Perimeter Road, and is the one terminal where the last stretch of the journey rarely follows the same road as the other three. A driver who only knows one Heathrow approach will lose time if sent to the wrong side of the airport.
Terminal 5 handles British Airways and Iberia and is the terminal most of our regular Heathrow customers use, since it takes the bulk of the airport's long-haul British Airways schedule. Terminal 2, known as the Queen's Terminal, is mainly Star Alliance carriers — Lufthansa, United, Air Canada and Singapore Airlines among them. Terminal 3 carries a wider mix, including Virgin Atlantic and a large share of the airport's long-haul arrivals generally, and Terminal 4 is mostly SkyTeam airlines such as Air France and KLM. Knowing which terminal your airline uses saves confusion at booking, since Heathrow itself isn't specific enough for a driver to know where to wait.
All four terminals have a short-stay drop-off directly outside arrivals or departures, and all four charge for it after the first few minutes. We use the free long-stay drop-off points a short drive from each terminal for anything other than an immediate drop, and time a pickup so the car arrives at the terminal itself close to when a passenger is actually coming through, rather than sitting on the meter at the forecourt on our own dime.
Fares from our coverage area are fixed regardless of which terminal you're using: Slough to Heathrow and Burnham to Heathrow are both £18 saloon or £28 executive, Windsor to Heathrow is £16 saloon or £25 executive, Maidenhead to Heathrow is £22 saloon or £32 executive, and Marlow to Heathrow is £30 saloon or £42 executive. The terminal itself doesn't change the price, only the last few minutes of the route in.
Every Heathrow pickup is booked against the flight number, not just a time, so a driver adjusts automatically if your flight lands early or is delayed. For departures, we build in enough time for the drive plus whichever terminal's security queue tends to run longer at that time of day, rather than a flat figure that doesn't account for Terminal 5's size against Terminal 4's smaller footprint. Early morning departures from any terminal get extra buffer time built in as a matter of course.
