Route notes
- From Burnham village the route joins the A4 almost immediately, giving a short, direct hop to the M4 at Junction 7 near Slough and Windsor rather than threading through side roads first.
- Traffic is light outside peak hours, but Slough traffic feeding onto the A4 after 4pm on weekdays can add ten minutes or more to what's normally an 18-minute run.
- The A4 Bath Road is the fallback if the M4 is closed or badly backed up between Junctions 6 and 5, a bit slower but reliable when the motorway isn't moving.
- Give the terminal number when you book. Terminal 5 sits on its own spur off the perimeter road, while Terminals 2 and 3 are reached through the tunnel, so a driver who only hears "Heathrow" may need to double back.
