Burnham taxi numbers: booking a cab that knows the village
If you're searching for a Burnham taxi number, it's usually for one of two reasons: an airport run, or a local trip where the train has just let you down. A cab firm that knows the village handles both without you having to explain the ground.
One number, both jobs
Roughly half of Burnham bookings are Heathrow runs and half are local — the school run to Burnham Grammar, a hop into Slough for the shops or the train, or a pickup from Burnham station when a connecting service is cancelled. The same booking line covers all of it, 24 hours a day.
The level crossing
The A4 (Bath Road) runs straight through the middle of Burnham, and the level crossing by the station can back the High Street right up when it's down. A driver who only knows the postcode sits in that queue. Ours cut through Godolphin Road or approach from Britwell instead — on a bad afternoon, the difference between a 10-minute pickup and a 25-minute one.
Burnham station
Burnham is a request stop with fewer trains than Slough or Maidenhead, which means more people needing a taxi when one gets cancelled. Tell us "Burnham station" and a driver knows the layout and the pickup point without an address.
Heathrow from Burnham
A straight run down the A4 and onto the M4, usually 15 to 20 minutes outside rush hour and longer once Slough traffic backs up after 4pm. The fare is a fixed price for a saloon or an executive car to any terminal, confirmed when you book.
The outlying bits
We cover Burnham Beeches — including the car park on Lord Mayor's Drive, where signal is patchy and booking ahead helps — plus Lent Rise, the housing off Boveney and Britwell Road, and Boveney down towards the Thames, where we take addresses by the turning off the B3026 rather than trusting a satnav pin. Cippenham, closer to Burnham than to Slough for most of its streets, is another where local knowledge matters: Cippenham Lane floods by the railway bridge in heavy rain, and a driver who knows that takes the short diversion via Farnham Road instead of pushing through standing water.
How to book
Call the booking line or book online. A short run into Slough is one of our lower local fares; Windsor and Maidenhead a little more. Every fare is fixed at booking, so you know the price before the car arrives.
